1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Prototype Plaza (the “Service”) at https://prototype-plaza.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.
2. What the Service Does
Prototype Plaza provides an online community where tabletop game designers can showcase prototypes, exchange feedback, and connect with other users, including prospective publishers. We do not guarantee that any game will be reviewed, selected, licensed, published, purchased, or otherwise commercially successful.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us about suspected unauthorized account activity. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except as prohibited by applicable law. We may require reasonable verification for account recovery or security.
4. User Content and Ownership
You retain ownership of your original games, artwork, rules, text, images, videos, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and share it and that it does not violate law or third-party rights. By posting User Content, you grant Prototype Plaza a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that content solely to operate, improve, promote, and provide the Service, subject to your visibility settings. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for reasonable backups, previously shared copies, and retention required by law. No ownership of your game or intellectual property is transferred to Prototype Plaza.
5. Public Sharing and Publisher Interactions
Game pages, forum posts, images, pitch materials, and profile information marked public may be viewed, copied, or shared by visitors. Do not post confidential ideas, personal information, or proprietary materials you are unwilling to disclose publicly. Private publisher shortlists or similar features do not create confidentiality obligations between users. Users are responsible for independently arranging any nondisclosure agreement, license, publishing contract, or transaction. Prototype Plaza is not a party to such agreements unless expressly stated.
6. Community Conduct
Do not harass or threaten others, impersonate anyone, post hateful or unlawful content, infringe intellectual property rights, send spam, scrape or harvest personal information without permission, interfere with security, or use automated tools to overload the Service. Feedback and criticism should be constructive. You may not upload malware, deceptive links, or content that exploits others. We may remove material or restrict accounts to protect users and the Service.
7. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Prototype Plaza is agnostic about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in prototype art and materials. AI was used to help create the Prototype Plaza platform.
Users of Prototype Plaza deserve transparency about whether a game or its materials were created or aided by AI. Designers are responsible for accurately disclosing AI use in their game components, thumbnail art, sell sheets, and videos, and for keeping those disclosures current when their materials change.
Intentional misrepresentation of whether AI was used in game components, thumbnail art, sell sheets, or videos is a violation of these Terms. Such misrepresentation may result in account suspension, removal of the game or related content, or removal of the user from Prototype Plaza.
8. Moderation and Account Termination
We may review, hide, edit for formatting or safety, remove, or restrict access to content, and suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, security risks, or other reasonable operational needs. We may take action without advance notice when necessary, subject to applicable law. You may request account closure at the contact address below; some records may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to third-party websites and embed content, videos, authentication options, or other features provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, practices, or terms. Your dealings with those third parties are between you and them.
10. Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the Service, with or without notice where lawful. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage, or any particular level of functionality. Please maintain backup copies of important game files and submissions.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not verify user-submitted claims, endorse games or publishers, or guarantee publication outcomes.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prototype Plaza and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, business opportunities, or data arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This provision does not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Your Responsibility for Claims
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Prototype Plaza and its operators against third-party claims, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful User Content, material breach of these Terms, or violation of another person’s rights. This does not apply where prohibited by law.
14. Intellectual Property Concerns
If you believe content posted on Prototype Plaza infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us with the material’s URL, a description of your rights, your contact information, and enough details to evaluate the concern. We may request additional information and respond as required by applicable law.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise. Any court proceedings will take place in the competent courts of the USA unless applicable law requires another venue. Before filing a claim, we encourage you to contact us to seek an informal resolution.
16. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where allowed by law.
